Fluorescent Lights are Not Healthy

Studies worldwide prove that if schools and workplaces were lit with sunlight or full-spectrum bulbs, kids would do better in school, and rates of depression and suicide would drop everywhere, from colleges to prisons.  Fluorescent light in omnipresent in drugstores, banks, classrooms and even in our hospitals. 

Those flickering “cool white” bulbs have nodes on the ends that give off X-rays and other electromagnetic pollution.  The light they give is limited to mostly yellowish hues, and lacks the healthy, rainbow-colored benefits of sunlight and therapeutic, nutritious full-spectrum bulbs.

Researchers the world over have proven the dangers of fluorescent light.  Besides headaches, eye-strain, and sleep disorders, here are some of the major problems:

1. Skin cancer (melanoma) has been linked directly to excessive exposure of fluorescent light, rather than sunlight. Those who work indoors under fluorescent lights are twice as likely to get skin cancer, and those who sunbathed often had the lowest risk of skin cancer.

2. Problem children, learning disabilities, school anxiety, leukemia. Several studies prove traditional fluorescent bulbs used in classrooms cause anxiety, hyper-activity, attention problems, bodily stress, aggressive behavior, tooth decay, and other learning and performance problems.  Even blind children are as adversely affected by fluorescence as sighted children.  Reports of leukemia in elementary school students who studied in fluorescent-lit classrooms with no sunlight.

3. Depression:  Scientists have confirmed that certain types of fluorescent tubes leak radiation that can lead to depletion of brain chemicals such as serotonin, which can lead to depression and suicidal tendencies. 

4. SAD (Seasonal Affect Disorder); From the fall until the spring, many people get depressed when they don’t get enough sunlight.  Researchers state that regular fluorescent light does not make up for sunlight because of it’s limited wavelength. Sunlight is vital to the stimulation of the pineal gland and to the body’s production of various hormones, and it affects the healthy secretion of neurotransmitters in the brain, like serotonin, that affects moods.

What is the solution?  It seems we all need to get more sun.  And, if we’re going to continue using fluorescent lights, we need to replace them with full-spectrum lights, which are designed to fit both fluorescent and normal incandescent lighting fixtures.

The Russians and the Germans have known all this for years.  The Germans have restricted the use of cool, fluorescent light in public buildings, and hospitals have banned the troublesome light.

Studies have been done on mice that lived seven to eight months under fluorescent lights; whereas mice living under natural, unfiltered daylight lived twice as long.

The new fluorescent light bulbs have been blamed for causing migraine headaches and are made in China and filled with mercury.  They need to disposed of properly because they are hazardous waste. If you break one in your home, there are 3 pages of instructions as to safely remove the mercury.  Does this seem safe?

Buy full-spectrum lights for your family’s health and well being.  Try to get your office or kids school to change to full-spectrum lights.  They cost more but the health benefits are well worth it.

Cell Towers, When is Enough, Enough!

Everywhere you go there are cell towers.  There are regular cell towers, and cell towers disguised as bell towers, clock towers, and ugly trees.  They are in church steeples, on apartment buildings, on top of office buildings, on billboards, on top of water tanks, on top of hills and mountains, and on power poles.  They are, unfortunately, in our parks and in our kids schools.  It is hard to get away from them.

Our bodies were not meant to deal with all the EMF’s we are being exposed to.  In Canada and Europe, they are seeing cancer clusters around cell towers (300 feet to 1/4 mile).  Most places have multiple towers within 1/4 mile.  This is a double whamy to your body.  There is no protection from the government.  Health concerns can not be used as a reason to fight against the telecommunications company from putting a cell tower in your neighborhood!

We are saturated with cell towers and there are many more to come.  Companies, cities, churches, etc. get paid well to have these towers, but at what cost to our health and that of our children and our pets?

Reasons to Not Use Your Microwave Oven

1. People who ingested microwaved foods showed a statistically higher incidence of stomach and intestinal cancers, plus a general degeneration of peripheral cellular tissues and a gradual breakdown of the function of the digestive and excretory systems.

2. Due to chemical alterations within food substances, malfunctions occurred within the lymphatic system, causing a degeneration in the immune system’s ability to protect the body against cancerous growth.

3.  Microwave exposure caused significant decreases in the nutritional value of all foods studied, most significantly in the bio-availability of B-complex vitamins, vitamin C, vitamin E, essential minerals and lipotropics (substances that prevent abnormal accumulation of fat).

4. Heating prepared meats in a microwave sufficiently for human consumption creates the cancer-causing agent d-nitrosodiethanolamine.

5. Cancer-causing free radicals were formed within certain trace-mineral, molecular formations in plant substances -particurlarly in raw root vegetables.

6. Ingestion of microwaved foods caused a higher percentage of cancerous cells with the blood serum.

7. Microwaving foods alters their elemental food substances, leading to disorders in the digestive system.

 *Radiation disrupts the electrical field of the body.  Radiation remains in the area, 15 minutes after the microwave is turned off. 

The use of microwave ovens was banned in Russia in 1976.

Dangers of Trans Fats for Everybody

Trans fats or partially hydrogenated oils have no place in our diet.  Trans fats have found their way into most packaged foods; cookies, cereals, crackers and peanut butter, to name a few.  Foods made with hydrogenated fats are cheaper and last longer, but consumers pay a higher price in the long run, since trans fats provide little nutritional benefits to the body and are, in fact, harmful.

Trans fats raise the LDL (bad) cholesterol, while reducing the level of HDL (good) cholesterol.  Trans fats have been shown to decrease the body’s ability to produce natural anti-inflammatory prostaglandins, those hormone-like substances that regulate many of the body’s functions. 

Trans fats interfere with the ability of the cells of the body to metabolize the fats that are good for you.  They can weaken cell membranes and clog the arteries.  They are linked to other health problems, including decreased testosterone, abnormal sperm production, prostate disease, obesity, immune-system depression and diabetes.  Trans fats are known to increase degenerative diseases including, heart disease, cancer, birth defects and hinder brain function.

The health dangers of trans fats have been known for decades, yet food companies still poison consumers with hydrogenated oils.  The FDA has allowed labeling to say, “No Trans Fat”, when the product does, in fact, contain trans fat (partially hydrogenated oils).  Please read all food labels and avoid this dangerous fat.

Dangers of Antibacterial Soap

Americans have become preoccupied with killing germs.  Antibacterial ingredients have, in fact, become so prevalent in the United States that there are now antibacterial soaps, laundry detergents, shampoos, toothpastes, body washes, dish soaps and many household cleaning products.

The active ingredient in most antibacterial products is triclosan, an antibacterial agent that kills bacteria and inhibits bacterial growth.  Not only does triclosan kill bacteria, it also has been shown to kill human cells.  The use of antibacterial products contributes to the mutation of these organisms into resistant strains.

The real focus should be on building up the immune system and equipping the person to fight off the disease.  The best defense is to wash hands with safe, natural soap and warm water, that offers better effectiveness than relying on harmful chemicals.
